ASA Scholarship 2024-25

Eligibility:

1. Must have been a member of the ASA this current season and last season.
2. Must have or be graduating from high school.
3. It is strongly encouraged to complete the ASA online safety program - https://www.snowmobilecourse.com/canada/alberta/
4. Should be a member of their local ASA Club.
5. Essays should be a max of 2 pages, typed (see topic below)
6. Do NOT include your name or club name in your essay
7. Essays are due April 1, 2025 at the latest

How to apply:

1. Submit your essay, with your membership number, and your Club (if applicable) to info@albertasnowmobile.ca.

*Failure to comply with rules will exclude students from the competition. The submission window opens February 1, 2025 and closes April 1, 2025.

Improving the Snowmobile Community in Alberta: Challenges and Solutions

Alberta’s vast and varied landscape makes it a prime destination for snowmobiling, attracting enthusiasts from across the province and beyond. However, as the popularity of this winter sport grows, so do the challenges associated with maintaining a safe, sustainable, and inclusive snowmobiling community. These challenges include environmental concerns, trail maintenance, safety issues, and fostering a sense of community among riders.
In an essay, discuss the current state of the snowmobile community in Alberta. What are the key issues that need to be addressed to ensure its continued growth and success? How can the community, government, and other stakeholders work together to improve safety, preserve the environment, and enhance the overall snowmobiling experience for all participants? Be sure to propose practical solutions and strategies for addressing these challenges, while also considering the diverse needs of snowmobilers, landowners, and local communities.
Your response should be well-reasoned, supported by evidence where possible, and demonstrate a balanced approach to the future of snowmobiling in Alberta.

ALBERTA'S PROVINCIAL DAY OF SNOWMOBILING

We are excited to announce that the Government of Alberta through the Ministry for Tourism and Sport have officially declared February 1, 2024, as the first annual "Alberta's Day of Snowmobiling". We invite you to share this exciting announcement with your snowmobile community. This day will be used to promote snowmobiling in Alberta.
